What is going on here, and how do I fix it? I could understand it not wanting to work in XP or 2000. I've got every patch I can find, there's no viruses, spyware, or hardware problems. The latest drivers for everything are installed. I've got all the latest updates and patches for everything. PNY GeForceFX 5200 video card w/128MB of memory (I had an eVGA Geforce2 MX 400 card in the system, and it did it with that card too - I swapped them because I was getting weird stuff in Windows, but that's most likely the driver) My DOS Box specs:Ībit VA-10 Motherboard w/onboard sound and LAN I've got the last version of the game with the patch applied, so that's up to date. I can't Crtl+Alt+Dlt to see what the problem is, or Alt+Tab, or anything. But once I click on "New Game", I see the loading screen, then the screen goes black, I hear a "ding" from Windows, and I have to reset the computer to get back into Windows. It goes through the CD check, and I can then change the options. And now, I install 98 on my new DOS Box, and I can't play it there either. I've even built four different systems (and sold three of them) to play it, and I still can't. For the last year and a half, I've been trying to run System Shock 2 on a computer.
